Google Eases with Google Docs App for Android


The all new Google Docs App for Android has given relief to numerous people. Though it may not be extremely handy but yet it supports basic features that one wishes to have on his smartphone. If you are familiar with Google Docs you must be aware with what it can do and the app for Android is just wonderful.
It not only allows users to create documents and spreadsheets but also lets them share it with their contacts available on the phone and that to from the app itself. It makes easy to filter and search for your content across any Google account, then jump straight into editing docs using the online mobile editors. The press release dispatches features like collaboration, making changes to spreadsheets, viewing pdf, images and more. Further it also allows users to open email attachments.





Three main features to be highlight are:

  • Take a photo of printed text and convert it to a Google document
  • Jumping to starred documents
It makes possible conversion of photo to document. Using the app and your phone’s camera, you can turn photos with text into editable Google documents with the power of optical character recognition (OCR). Just create a new ‘Document from Photo' or select the camera icon from the widget, and your converted document will appear in your documents list shortly after you snap the picture. You can also convert photos already stored on your phone by sharing them with the Google Docs app.
The app has been rated 4/5 and is available in English for Android 2.1 and above. Its version 1.0.4r and is available at the Android Market as a freeware.
